Day 1 |
Travel across Cairns Hinterland to Tyrconnell where you
will be taken on an informative guided tour of the
restored gold mine. Onto Chillagoe to explore the
township and stargaze. |

Day 2 |
This morning we explore one of the impressive Limestone
Cave formations, then its off to Cobbold Gorge via
Oottan and Einasleigh, passing through outback cattle
stations. |

Day 3 |
We
start the day with a boat cruise of the Gorge. We then
explore Goergetown on the way to Croydon where you will
discover the history of the town on a guided walking
tour. |
|
Day 4 |
This
morning we board the Gulflander for a memorable trip to
Normanton, across the “Plains of Promise”, Burke and
Wills Camp 119 to our overnight camp at Burketown. |

Day 5 |
We will
travel via Gregory Down to spend the afternoon relaxing
at the oasis of Lawn Hill National Park, one of
Queenslands most scenic National Parks. Camping at Adels
Grove. |

Day 6 |
The
morning starts with a guided tour of Riversleigh Fossil
Fields, which is considered the worlds richest fossil
deposit. The afternoon will be spent relaxing at Lawn
Hill and Adels Grove. |

Day 7 |
We will
travel through Lawn Hill and Bowthorn Cattle Stations,
to spend the afternoon relaxing in the lush grounds of
Kingfisher Camp on the Nicholson River. |

Day 8 |
Passing
through the Aboriginal settlement of Doomadgee we head
through Burketown and Leichart Falls on our way to our
sunset cruise at Kurumba. |

Day 9 |
Today
we visit Lake Belmore and the Cumberland Chimney before
reaching our overnight Camp at Mt Surprise for the next
2 nights. We will finish with a guided tour of the town. |

Day 10 |
Start the day with a tour of O’Briens Creek Gem Fields.
Learn the art of Gem fossicking. The afternoon will be
spent on an informative tour of Undara Lava Tubes with
an experienced Savannah Guide. |
|
Day 11 |
We will
spend the day exploring the mining relics and hidden
treasures of Mt Garnet and surrounds. The afternoon can
be spent relaxing in the thermal pools at Innot Hot
Springs. |
|
Day 12 |
We will
explore the back roads and historical mining towns of
Irvinebank and Herberton, then its onto “The Crater” and
across the tablelands passing through Atherton and
Mareeba on our way home. |
