The Gulf Savannah and
Top End offer a tour of diversity in landscape, wildlife and an
extensive history of Australia’s exploration, mining and pastoral
days. It traverses from the east coast of Queensland through to the
Northern Territory. Staggering contrasts abound in the region from
Savannah landscapes to monsoon forests, floodplains and the stone
country of the Arnhem Plateau.

environmental significance, protecting most habitats of Northern
Australia and one-third of the country’s bird species. It also
preserves an incredible record of natural and Aboriginal history in
the vast galleries of Rock art.
Litchfield National Park just south of Darwin is on the Top End’s
most spectacular and accessible parks, with numerous waterfalls and
swimming holes and a good variety of walks through differing
habitats.
Relax and enjoy the thermal springs of Mataranka, visit Elsey
Cemetery and relive the history of “We of the Never Never”. The
spectacular lost cities of Cape Crawford and of course Heartbreak
